Laconia Putnam Fund presents Pemigewasset Choral Society

Saturday, May 04
Show: 7:30pm

A limited number of advance tickets will be made available on Tuesday, April 30th at 10am through May 3rd (or while supplies last). Remaining tickets will be available at the door on May 4th. Please note there is a 4 ticket limit per person.

Audience members should expect to experience a full range of emotions at this concert from the lyrical beauty of Schubert’s “Mass in G,” the tender poignancy of “I Soared Without Regret,” to the energetic spirit of “The Awakening” and “Lead with Love.”

The 100-voice Pemigewasset Choral Society, under the direction of William Gunn, will premiere a commissioned work by internationally recognized composer Moira Smiley. Her composition, “I Soared Without Regret,” is a musical setting of the powerful poem, “Flying,” by former Plymouth State University professor Jane Babin, who died from ALS in 2015.

The chorus will be accompanied by a chamber orchestra for several pieces including the beautiful “Mass in G” by Franz Schubert, “Sweet Rivers” by Shawn Kirchner, and a collection of other dynamic choral works that celebrate the positive impact of music in our lives.

As is the chorus’ custom, admission is by donation.

This concert is proudly presented by The Laconia Putnam Fund.

Admission by donation.  General seating.
